He lives with his grandmother who is a farmer. Elvis was promoted to primary 6 this academic year but his grandmother did not have money to send him to school. He however started school with the hope that his grandmother would provide his school needs. But sadly he was rejected as his school fees had not been paid. The Tobin Orphans Education Torch identified him and came to his aid. The group contributed 10,000 FRS and made a deposit to Government School Tobin - Elvis’ school. They are planning to complete the rest of the school fee which is 10,500 FRS, part of which is for his registration for the First School Leaving Certificate and Common Entrance examinations into secondary school.
The Tobin Orphans Education Torch plan to invest their 50% of seed money in a small poultry egg laying business project. Their goal is to use the profits from the poultry project to sponsor many more orphans in the next academic year 2011/2012. The TBF national office, thru the Torch facilitator and the agricultural advisors will be assisting this Torch to assure the success of the egg laying business. We pray for the best of success for this Torch and hope to use it as another model example of TBF’s impact to assist the needs of the rural community.
Tobin Orphans Education Torch
The Tobin Orphans Education Torch was established on August 2011 in the Kumbo Sub-Division of Cameroon. The group is made up of nine members who have committed themselves to help provide educational assistance to orphans in their community. Although this Torch is just three months old they have started making a substantial impact in the life of one orphan.
The Tadui Poverty Alleviation Torch in Kumbo was born in August 2011. They have decided to fight poverty by “cooperating out of poverty” a self-sustaining philosophy taught by TBF. Each member in the group contributed 1,000 FRS which they used in buying a carton of washing soap at a reduced cost. The Carton contained 50 cubes of soap. They distributed the soap among themselves and each member is gradually paying for the number of cubes of soap they received. Each cube makes a 25 FRS profit. They intend to do this business among themselves and add the profit to their 50% seed money which will be part of their capital to start a grinding mill project.

Meluf Dynamic Farmers Torch
The NGO provides technical advice to coffee farmers and supervises their work on the farm to ensure that the farmers follow the advice to the letter. OLAM CAM assigned the farmers to draw a one year plan of activities for their coffee farms. Many farmers did not know how to write a plan of activities. The Dynamic farmers Torch in Meluf drew inspiration from the TBF training they had in September 2011 and wrote an activity plan which they tabled to OLAM CAM for follow up and supervision of their coffee farm.

The Meluf Dynamic Farmers Torch was formed on September 2011. During the second phase of the Torchbearer Foundation training in Kumbo they learned how to write a project proposal and project implementation plan. They used the knowledge learned from this training and applied in their work with OLAM CAM Sarl, an NGO that promotes the cultivation of Arabica coffee among farmers. a paragraph. PLAN WITH GOD TORCH
Mrs. Cecilia Nain Fukuin is 58 years old. She is one out of eleven people who started TBF group in her village of Njang, the PLAN WITH GOD TORCH. After two years, the group scattered on grounds that they were only contributing seed money and no assistance was forth coming from anywhere. Only three members of the Torch remained. Later, they decided to join another Torch group. When asked why she too did not leave the group she said “what God did to me through the Torchbearers proved the power of God in my life. TBF members came and prayed for me when I was sick and I was immediately healed. The following day I was able to go to the farm.”
Mrs. Celina promised she will die as a TBF mother. She calls on people to trust God in prayers. TBF has made her to trust God. Before joining the TBF she was not a Christian but now she believes in God’s power.

Mrs. Theresia Natih....

...Is a widow and a mother of seven children. Last year she participated in the yam harvest on the TBF demonstration farm in Belo. Like all other members of her Torch, she received five yams seedlings which she planted on her own farm. She is waiting for the harvest of yams from the farm in December 2011.
She intends to sell some of the yams and use the rest to feed her family during the Christmas and New Year feasts. She testifies that thanks to TBF, she now has the knowledge to cultivate yams. Before now she and her Torch members did not even know that yams could do well in her village of Njinikejem.
Mrs. Theresia plans to get into large scale cultivation of yams next year.
